US President Donald Trump wants to hold a trilateral meeting with the leaders of Ukraine and Russia next Friday, August 22.
This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to Axios.
It should be noted that on the night of August 15-16, a summit between Trump and Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin took place in Alaska. The main topic of the talks was the war in Ukraine and the issue of ending it.
Shortly after the summit, Trump had a phone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and European leaders. In it, he expressed his desire to organize a trilateral meeting “quickly”.
“Trump told Zelensky and other participants in the phone call that he wants to hold a trilateral summit ‘quickly,’ as early as August 22,” two sources told Axios.
The outlet also notes that Putin has not publicly promised to hold such a meeting.
