Trump calls his plan for peace in Ukraine incomplete

The peace plan for resolving the war in Ukraine put forward by the White House is not a “final offer” to Kyiv.

This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to Clash Report.

This was stated by US President Donald Trump during a briefing at the White House.

When asked by a journalist whether the current offer to Ukraine is final, the politician answered in the negative, adding that the United States is committed to peace.

“This should have happened a long time ago. We are trying to put an end to it one way or another,” he said.

The US peace plan and Europe’s intentions to change it

As a reminder, the United States recently presented Ukraine with a new “peace plan” to end the war. It consists of 28 points.

According to Axios, the document requires Ukraine to withdraw from Donbas, reduce the size of the army, and give up long-range weapons, NATO, and more. In exchange, the country will be provided with security guarantees similar to those of the North Atlantic Alliance.

The European Council has suggested that this plan could become the basis for peace, but it needs to be significantly revised.

According to media reports, Europe wants to change at least 4 out of 28 points. Among them are the issue of territories, the reduction of the Armed Forces, security guarantees, and Trump’s idea of frozen Russian assets. Der Spiegel wrote that the EU has already sent Washington a revised version of the US plan.

Moreover, National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov announced that in the coming days Ukraine and the United States would hold consultations in Geneva on a future peace agreement with Russia. He also revealed who would be part of the Ukrainian delegation.

The media also reported that a meeting between Ukraine, the United States, and national security advisors from France, Britain, and Germany would take place today.
