The United States wants peace and is ready to restore it through force. This was stated by Mike Johnson, a spokesman for the U.S. House of Representatives. Moreover, recent statements about the alleged curtailment of U.S. military assistance to Ukraine have caused a stir in Ukrainian society and among Western allies, but the facts show the opposite – the supply of Patriot missiles, F-16 fighters and Abrams tanks continues and is even increasing.

So what is really going on and is the US ready to take more decisive action? "Komersant Ukrainian" analyzed.

The United States is not planning any immediate changes in its strategy towards Ukraine, but calls for peace are becoming louder. This was stated by Mike Johnson, a spokesman for the US House of Representatives, after discussions with senators.

The House and Senate agree that we need to wait. Given the 50-day deadline set by the White House, we need to give the commander-in-chief, the administration, the secretary of defense and the Pentagon the opportunity to do what they are going to do and see how it works,” Johnson said.

He also emphasized that the United States wants peace. “It’s been going on for too long.

Too many innocent people are dying. We don’t want the United States to be involved in this anymore. We hope that it will end soon. We trust the commander-in-chief to restore peace through force, Mike Johnson

Trump is implementing tactics to exhaust Russia

Western media publications about the alleged curtailment of military assistance to Ukraine by the United States are part of a large-scale information operation, which is likely to be backed by Russian special services. This was stated by military expert Dmitry Snegirev in an exclusive commentary [Kommersant].

“These publications were the subject of a large-scale information and psychological operation aimed at both Ukrainian society and Western allies on the eve of US President Donald Trump’s phone conversation with Vladimir Putin,” Snegiryov said.

According to him, Washington’s actual actions indicate something else – the expansion and acceleration of military and technical support for Ukraine.

President Trump recently confirmed at Andrews Air Force Base that missiles for the Patriot system are already being delivered to Ukraine. In addition, we are talking about air defense systems, F-16 fighters, Abrams tanks – all this is actively coming amid talk of “suspending” aid,” noted Dmytro Snegiryov.

He emphasized that the sharp intensification of supplies began after Trump’s penultimate conversation with Putin, and this, in his opinion, is part of the US geopolitical strategy.

Trump is implementing tactics to deplete the Russian Federation. It is not just about supplying weapons, but about a large-scale multi-step strategy aimed at forcing Russia to the negotiating table,” Snegirev emphasized.

He drew special attention to the issue of arms re-export. According to international law, no US-made weapons can be transferred to another state without Washington’s permission, even through NATO partner countries.

Snegiryov reminded that back in October 2024, under the Joe Biden administration, Australia promised to transfer 49 Abrams tanks to Ukraine. But real progress was made only under President Trump.

Today’s increased pace of support for Ukraine is not a “change of course” but a logical continuation of the strategy. This is no longer just military assistance, but a comprehensive geopolitical operation with a clear goal,” Snegirev summarized.

Despite the media hype surrounding the US strategy towards Ukraine, the Trump administration’s actual actions show the opposite: arms supplies are growing, and international military support is being coordinated in a rigorous and focused manner. The question now is not whether the United States supports Ukraine, but how quickly this support will lead to a geopolitical result.
