With less than two weeks to go before the election, US presidential candidates Donald Trump and Kamala Harris have almost the same level of support in seven traditionally swing states – Trump is supported by 48.5% of voters there, and Harris by 49.1%. These are the results of a Bloomberg News/Morning Consult poll, Komersant ukrainskyi reports.

The following results were recorded for the candidates:

  • Arizona: Harris – 49.1%, Trump – 48.8%;
  • Georgia: Harris – 48.4%, Trump – 49.9%;
  • Michigan: Harris – 49.6%, Trump – 46.5%;
  • Nevada: Harris – 48.8%, Trump – 48.3%;
  • North Carolina: Harris – 48.5%, Trump – 49.6%;
  • Pennsylvania: Harris – 50%, Trump – 48.2%;
  • Wisconsin: Harris – 48%, Trump – 48.3%.

The pollsters surveyed 5308 registered voters in seven states online from 16 to 20 October. The overall statistical error of the poll is 1 percentage point.

To change the status quo, experts say, Trump should have focused on mobilising voters who don’t usually turn out to vote. Instead, Harris’s team is focusing on reaching out to women, as well as moderate Republicans who are not Trump supporters, and that is where they are looking for a way to win.
