Trump and Musk shake hands at Kirk’s farewell ceremony

U.S. President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk sat next to each other at the State Farm Sports Arena in Arizona, where the farewell ceremony for politician Charlie Kirk began.

The broadcast was conducted by NBC News, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

In the footage from the stadium, the politician and the businessman were chatting animatedly during a speech by Defense Secretary Pete Hagel. Then Trump extended his hand to his interlocutor. Musk shook hands and left. The head of state finally patted him on the back.

The media noted that the conversation between Musk and Trump was friendly and was their first public appearance since the billionaire resigned from the US government in May amid disagreements with the presidential administration over key budget policy issues.

on September 10, a conservative activist Charlie Kirk was assassinated during a speech at a university campus in Utah. He was shot with a rifle from a distance of 180 meters, the bullet hit him in the neck. Kirk was rushed to the hospital, but he did not survive. A few days later, police detained 22-year-old student Tyler Robinson. The young man was handed over by his father, a former police officer. According to the investigation, the suspect had motives related to the rejection of Kirk’s political views.
