Trump at the UN General Assembly: Europe is going to hell because of illegal migrants

US President Donald Trump delivered a sharp speech at the UN General Assembly in New York, saying that Europe is “crumbling” due to uncontrolled migration and failed energy policies. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to The Telegraph.
This was his fifth speech at the UN and the first after his re-election to a second term.
“The experiment with open borders has failed”
In his speech, Trump emphasized:
“Europe is flooded with illegal migrants like never before. You are destroying your countries. They are going to hell. It’s time to end the failed experiment with open borders.”
Speaking of migrants, he accused the UN of facilitating the “invasion” of Western countries.
“Europe is in grave danger,” Trump said.
He said that “illegal migrants are flooding in” and accused European countries of doing “absolutely nothing about it,” explaining it by the desire to be “politically correct.”
The American leader said that his administration has succeeded in stopping illegal crossings of the US border, which has reduced the number of new migrants to a minimum. According to him, a tough deportation policy has not only reduced the inflow but also provoked an outflow.
Criticism of Europe and the UN
Trump spoke harshly about European countries, which, in his opinion, are committing “civilizational suicide” through uncontrolled migration and a “fake energy disaster.” He said that this “double threat” is destroying the European heritage and undermining security.
“If you do not stop people with whom you have nothing in common, your country will die. I love Europe, but I can’t watch it being destroyed by energy and migration,” he said.
In addition, the US president accused the UN of “supporting illegal migrants” and said that the organization spends hundreds of millions of dollars not to protect states, but to “create new invasions.”
Conflict with Sadiq Khan
Separately, Trump attacked London Mayor Sadiq Khan, saying that he “wants to introduce Sharia law.” This is not the first time they have had a conflict – Trump has previously called the mayor a “loser” and refused to allow him to participate in state events in Britain.
In response, Sadiq Khan’s office called the US president’s remarks “disgusting and xenophobic,” saying that London is safer than many large American cities and is attracting a record number of immigrants from the United States.
What’s next
Analysts say that Trump’s speech signaled an even tougher US policy in his second term. The slogan “America First” is now accompanied by direct attacks on international institutions and European allies.
