Trump says Ukrainian impeachment against him is illegal

US President Donald Trump said on his social network Truth Social that the attempt to impeach him in 2019 over allegations of pressure on the Ukrainian leadership was a much more illegal fraud than the Watergate scandal, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
“The ‘Ukrainian impeachment’ scam (of me!) was a much bigger illegal fraud than Watergate. I sincerely hope that the appropriate authorities, including Congress, investigate this!” Trump wrote.
It should be reminded that the first impeachment of Donald Trump in 2019 was initiated by the US House of Representatives on charges of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. The charges were based on his attempt to pressure Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to investigate his political opponent, Joe Biden, and his son Hunter, using military aid to Kyiv as leverage.
Trump has consistently denied the allegations, calling the procedure a “witch hunt.” Now he is demanding an investigation into the impeachment procedure itself, comparing it to one of the biggest political scandals in US history, Watergate.
