Gold price breaks record

15 October 10:47

The cost of December gold futures has exceeded the historic high of $4200 per troy ounce.

This is evidenced by data from the Comex exchange, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

By 4:12 a.m. Kyiv time, the price had risen to $4202.4 per troy ounce, an increase of 0.64%. By 4:17 a.m. Kyiv time, the price of gold slowed to $4199.8 per ounce.

Prior to that, the gold futures price had updated its historical high, reaching $4150. By 2:36 a.m., the price of gold reached $4150 per troy ounce, showing an increase of 1.97%. However, as of 2:59 a.m., the growth rate slowed slightly, and the price of the precious metal was $4146.5 per ounce (1.88%).

The rise in gold prices is attributed to the deteriorating geopolitical situation and the Fed’s tightening policy.

Gold is rising due to the trade war between the US and China and the situation in the Middle East.

Analysts at Bank of America and Societe Generale have recently changed their forecast. They now expect gold to reach $5,000 an ounce in mid-2026.
