Cucumber prices have risen: what’s happening on Ukrainian markets
26 September 2025 12:14
This week, Ukrainian greenhouse plants have once again raised selling prices for cucumbers.
This was reported by analysts of the EastFruit project, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
Experts explain the rise in price by several factors. The main reason is a general decrease in the supply of greenhouse vegetables amid high demand. According to the monitoring data, wholesale prices for greenhouse cucumbers now range from 30-50 UAH/kg ($0.72-1.21/kg), which is about 15% higher than at the end of last week.
Market participants note that limited supply allows farms to raise prices. As of today, ground cucumbers have almost disappeared from the market. At the same time, the supply of greenhouse produce has dropped significantly due to the cool and cloudy weather in Ukraine over the past week.
Despite the current growth, greenhouse cucumbers in Ukraine are still selling on average 24% cheaper than last year at the same time. Market players are confident that prices will continue to rise, as demand from wholesalers and retailers remains high and imports are currently unable to compensate for the lack of local produce.
