Prices for Ukrainian apples will fall to UAH 30-40, but will rise again later – Ukrsadvynprom

In the near future, Ukrainian apples will drop significantly in price. Volodymyr Pechko, chairman of the Ukrainian Association of Fruit Growers, said this in an interview with the YouTube channel "Komersant Ukrainian".
He reminded that the summer apple harvest in Ukraine has already started to go on sale.
“I think that the price of apples will drop now, and it will cost about UAH 30-40 per kilogram. But then the price may rise again to UAH 70-80 per kilogram. I hope that the 2025 harvest will not break the 2024 price record,” he said.
Mr. Pechko emphasized that apples are a socially important product, so the government must guarantee their availability to the public.
He also informed that this year, in the face of a shortage of quality apples, Ukraine tried to arrange for the product to be supplied from Poland.
“However, it didn’t work out: the Poles didn’t have any quality apples themselves this year. As you can see, Ukraine is not the only country facing this problem,” he said.
As a reminder, apple prices in Ukraine have broken a record. In domestic supermarkets, the cost of an apple, depending on the variety and country of origin, ranges from UAH 64-156 per kilogram.
