The Central Election Commission has registered Olesya Otradnova as a member of parliament: what is known about her

The Central Election Commission has registered Olesya Otradnova as a member of the Ukrainian parliament. This is stated in the CEC’s decision, as reported by "Komersant Ukrainian".
Otradnova was recognized as an elected deputy in the extraordinary parliamentary elections on July 21, 2019, in the nationwide multi-mandate constituency from the Servant of the People political party. She was No. 160 on the party’s electoral list.
When Otradnova will take office
As specified by the press service of the CEC, Olesya Otradnova will assume her powers as a deputy from the moment she takes the oath of office in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
This is standard procedure: registration by the Central Election Commission does not automatically mean that a person takes office without taking the oath in parliament.
Who is Olesya Otradnova
Olesya Otradnova is a legal expert, doctor of law, and professor.
Otradnova was born in Blagoveshchensk, Amur Region, Russia, according to Chesno .
In 1999, she graduated from the Law Faculty of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv with a master’s degree in law.
Since 2001, she has worked as an assistant, associate professor, and professor in the Department of Civil Law at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
In 2002, she defended her thesis for the degree of Candidate of Legal Sciences on the topic “Penalties in Ukrainian civil law.”
In 2014, she defended her doctoral dissertation on “The Mechanism of Civil Law Regulation of Tort Obligations.”
In 2015, she became Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Law at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
In 2019, she unsuccessfully ran for the Verkhovna Rada of the 9th convocation from the Servant of the People party in the non-passable part of the list (No. 160) as an independent.
From 2020 to 2025, she headed the state institution Training Center for Prosecutors of Ukraine.
Why the composition of the Servant of the People faction has changed
Otrudnova’s registration is part of a review of the composition of the Servant of the People party’s parliamentary group.
Earlier, the CEC:
- removed Yuriy Fedorenko, commander of the 429th separate brigade of Achilles unmanned systems,from the list
- satisfied his personal request to cancel his registration as a people’s deputy.
Fedorenko was No. 158 on the party’s electoral list and appealed to the CEC himself, which paved the way for the next candidate, Olesia Otrahdnova.
