“Your mom”: White House press secretary rudely responds to journalist’s question about the Budapest summit

White House press secretary Caroline Leavitt sharply responded to a HuffPost journalist who decided to ask why Budapest was chosen for the upcoming meeting between Russian and US presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to HuffPost.
“When asked who suggested the Hungarian capital as a venue for the talks, Levitt replied: “Your mom did,” the publication writes.
White House communications director Stephen Cheung added a minute later, much more succinctly: “Your mom.”
When HuffPost asked Levitt to clarify whether she thought her reaction was witty, the press secretary replied:
“I find it funny that you even consider yourself a journalist. You are a leftist propagandist who no one takes seriously, not even your colleagues. Stop sending me your lying, biased, and ridiculous questions.”
It turned out that the question was asked by a journalist who published a book about Trump in 2021. In it, the author criticized the Republican administration and wanted him to lose the election. The title of the book itself contained an insult to the former president.
“We will continue to ask questions of Trump’s representatives, especially those they don’t want to answer. Schoolboy taunts will not stop us,” the journalist wrote.
The journalists recalled that it was there that the Budapest Memorandum was signed in 1994, which was supposed to guarantee Ukraine’s security in exchange for giving up nuclear weapons – a commitment that Russia later violated by occupying Crimea and starting a war.
