Brazil demands to convene an extraordinary BRICS summit to discuss the threats of multipolarity.
This was reported by Valor Econômico, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
The reason for the summit was the US threats to increase duties on Brazilian products by 50%. The summit is expected to be held online. The preparation of the summit is entrusted to the chief adviser to President Luiz Inácio and Silva, Celso Amorim. Currently, Brazil is the BRICS chair country.
BRICS is an association of nine countries: Russia, Brazil, India, China, South Africa, Iran, the UAE, Egypt and Ethiopia. The organization was founded in June 2006 as part of the St. Petersburg Economic Forum with the participation of the heads of the ministries of economy of Brazil, Russia, India, and China.
Since 2009, the BRICS governments have been meeting at official summits. In addition, meetings are held at the level of foreign ministers, finance ministers, and others.
