In Bucha, people blocked the Warsaw highway to protest against the developer’s actions

Residents of residential complexes protested against irresponsible developers near Kyiv. On the morning of Tuesday, December 16, 2025, such protests began in Bucha: residents of the Nova Bucha residential complex blocked the Warsaw highway from the direction of Vorzel. The reasons are that the developers have not connected the high-rise buildings to a permanent power supply line, and the temporary one may be disconnected due to the debts of the construction company itself, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
The blocking of Warsaw highway from Vorzel was reported by local publics on Facebook. Thus, at about 08:00, residents closed the road using a proven method – they began to walk on it through an unregulated overpass. Significant traffic jams formed in both directions, according to social media.
In fact, the protest was rather symbolic and lasted several tens of minutes. As of 11:00 a.m., it has already ended, and whether the residents succeeded in drawing the authorities’ attention to the problem is a rhetorical question. The developer of the Nova Bucha residential complex, Buchamiskbud LLC, has not connected the high-rise buildings to a permanent power supply line. The buildings are powered by a temporary line, however, it can be quickly disconnected due to the developer’s debts.
The problem has been going on since 2016, when the developer stopped fulfilling its obligations. Today, the electricity supplier, DTEK, is already planning to disconnect the developer’s power substation for debts – Nova Bucha is also connected to it.
