The winner of the Czech parliamentary elections, the ANO party, has reached an agreement with the Freedom and Direct Democracy Party (SPD) and the Motorists party (Motoristé) on the form of a potential 16-member government.

This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to Radio Prague International.

ANO party leader Andrej Babiš announced on social media that an agreement on the new government was reached after about five hours of negotiations.

According to the plan, ANO will have nine seats in the cabinet, including the prime minister’s post, SPD will have three, and Motoristé will have four.

The SPD will also nominate the next speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, according to a joint statement from the parties.

The ANO will head the ministries of finance, industry, health, labor, education, interior, regional development and justice.

The SPD will be responsible for defense, agriculture, and transportation.

Motoristé will control foreign affairs, culture, environment, and the new ministry of sports, prevention, and health.

There will be no ministers of European affairs, legislation, science, research and innovation.

Coalition negotiations on political priorities will continue next week.

Although the names of the ministers have not yet been announced, the new government is expected to start working on November 3.
