A new service has been added to the Diia app: online application for basic social assistance. The launch was announced by the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

Basic assistance combines five different types of state support into one payment to simplify the procedure for families.

How the benefit is calculated

The amount of the payment depends on the so-called basic amount, which is currently UAH 4,500. The amount for a family is determined as the difference between the total amount for all its members and the average monthly income of the family.

Families will be able to choose whether to stay on the current types of assistance or switch to the new integrated model.

Who can use the service now

You can already apply for assistance through Diia if your family receives one or more of the following benefits

  • assistance to low-income families;
  • child benefit for single mothers;
  • temporary assistance to children whose parents do not pay child support or are missing.

At the same time, families with many children cannot apply online yet and must contact the Pension Fund’s service centers.

What you need to apply

To apply online in Diia, you need

  • a biometric document (ID card or foreign passport)
  • verified tax number (RNOKPP).

The procedure involves several steps – from authorization in the application to signing the application through Diia.Signature by all adult family members.

Future plans of the government

Starting October 1, 2025, the government plans to expand the pilot project to cover other categories of citizens who meet the financial and property criteria.

Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko said:

“This pilot project will last for two years. At the same time, the government is already working to make it permanent. To do this, we have approved and submitted a draft law to the Parliament.”

At the end of August, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov announced the launch of six new services in Diia in the fall of 2025.
