The State Commission of Ukraine for Mineral Resources (SCR) has refused to provide explanations for the payments its head, Serhiy Payuk, declared from the European Commission, reports

According to the NACP website, in April 2025, the head of the SACP reported significant changes in his property status, in particular, receiving two money transfers from the European Commission – on April 4 in the amount of UAH 293,817 and on April 10 – UAH 328,408. In both cases, the declaration states that the funds were received from an institution registered in Belgium “for independent professional activities”. However, it is not specified what kind of activity is meant.
The editorial board sent a request to the SCC to explain what kind of work or services the head of the Commission received these funds for. However, the response, signed by the acting head of the SCC, Stanislav Lytvyniuk, stated that the requested information was allegedly not public within the meaning of the Law of Ukraine “On Access to Public Information.”
Thus, the State Commission on Mineral Reserves has actually classified the details of the payments received by its head from Brussels.
