DIU tells about enemy losses in Kursk region

DPRK troops in the Kursk region (Russia) continue to suffer losses. This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to information from the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
On the morning of December 20, 2024, the DPRK army’s attack aircraft suffered sanitary losses of at least 5 servicemen in one of the areas. However, Russian officers ordered to continue holding the position.
Intelligence also confirmed the defeat of a mortar unit of the DPRK army.
On the front lines, North Korean units lack drinking water, as logistics are complicated due to active hostilities.
On the same day, as a result of a fire attack by the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine on the enemy’s concentration near the village of Novoivanovka, Kursk region, North Korean troops suffered significant losses in killed and wounded.
Earlier, South Korean MP Lee Sung-gwon reported that at least 100 North Korean soldiers participating in hostilities in Russia were killed and about 1,000 others were wounded in clashes with Ukrainian troops in the Kursk region.
The heavy losses are attributed to the North Korean troops’ lack of experience in fighting drones and the difficulties of fighting in open terrain, to which they are not accustomed.
Earlier, South Korean intelligence reported that North Korea had decided to send 12,000 special forces soldiers to support Russia, most of whom are already in training and will be deployed to the front, according to the head of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine Kirill Budanov, on November 1. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned that this could be “the first step towards a world war.”
