Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko has appointed Yuriy Papush, deputy head of the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office, as the new head of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office. According to the publication’s sources, the decision to dismiss the previous head of the regional prosecutor’s office, Amil Omarov, was made on February 16.
Papusha has been appointed to the position for a term of five years, starting February 18. Prior to his transfer to Kyiv, he headed the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
What is known about Papusha
On July 17, 2025, Yuriy Papusha was appointed head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional prosecutor’s office. Previously, he held a position in the Odesa regional prosecutor’s office and was deputy head of the Black Sea district prosecutor’s office in the Odesa region. Before that, he worked in the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the military and defense sphere of the Southern Region.
What is known about the previous head
Amil Omarov was born on October 19, 1987, in Baku. He worked as a detective for the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU), then as first deputy head of the Kharkiv Local Prosecutor’s Office No. 1, and later as head of the Shevchenkivskyi District Prosecutor’s Office in Kharkiv. He held the position of head of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office from July 2, 2025.
