The head of the Kharkiv regional military administration, Oleh Syniehubov, said that there was no loss of territory in the north of Kharkiv region as a result of today’s Russian offensive. He said this during a telethon, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
“The enemy has launched a new wave of offensive in the north of Kharkiv region. These are the settlements of Kharkiv and Chuhuiv districts. The Vovchansk direction, in particular. Our combat brigades met the enemy with fire. All offensive attacks were repelled. No losses of territory have been incurred so far. These border settlements are actually 1-2 km from the border with the Russian Federation. Active hostilities are currently taking place there,”
– syniehubov said.
The head of the JMA was referring to information from some Russian telegram channels and Ukrainian media that the Russian offensive in the north of Kharkiv region in the Vovchansk direction is successful, and the Russians have already captured 4 villages: Strileche, Krasne, Pylyna and Borysivka.
When the host asked if Sinegubov’s words meant that there were no Russians in the area, the official replied:
“The entire border area, all settlements, is, in fact, a grey zone. This is how the enemy can enter certain areas with certain military equipment. Then there are battles and the enemy is destroyed.”
The news of Russian troops’ activation in the Kharkiv region became known this morning. The Ministry of Defence reported that it had sent reserve units to the area.
Sinehubov claims that heavy fighting is ongoing on the border of Kharkiv region, but there is no threat to Kharkiv at the moment.
