The Kremlin has responded to a report by The Wall Street Journal, which claims that former US President Donald Trump, during a conversation with European leaders, said: Vladimir Putin is not interested in ending the war because he considers himself a winner, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that “the Kremlin does not know” what Trump said to European leaders after his conversation with Putin. He did not refute the essence of the statement, only noted that what the WSJ said contrasted with Trump’s official positions.

Peskov also commented on the possibility of new talks between Ukraine and Russia.

According to him:

  • “There are no agreements on a new round of talks in the Vatican at the moment.
  • russia is working to implement the agreements reached at previous stages, in particular during the meetings in Istanbul.
  • He called the process of exchanging prisoners “1000 for 1000“laborious” but one that should be implemented as soon as possible.

Peskov also criticized the European Parliament’s decision to impose duties on imports of fertilizers from Russia, saying that as a result, “Europeans will receive more expensive and lower-quality products.”
