A Russian An-26 military plane crashed in Crimea: 29 people were killed

A Russian An-26 military transport aircraft crashed while flying over the temporarily occupied Crimea, killing six crew members and 23 passengers.

This was reported by the Russian BBC service, citing a statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

The ministry stated that a search and rescue team had located the crash site of the An-26. It is noted that there was no external damage to the aircraft; the preliminary cause of the crash is cited as a technical malfunction.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, contact with the military transport An-26 was lost around 6:00 p.m. local time on Tuesday. The plane was on a scheduled flight over the temporarily occupied Crimea.
