Fuel crisis escalates in Crimea: activists report new shortages

Since October 17, not only gasoline of all brands has disappeared from most gas stations in annexed Crimea, but also diesel fuel, one of the Crimean activists of the #LiberateCrimea campaign told Krym.Realiion condition of anonymity, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
According to the activist, this is happening against the backdrop of new strikes by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the fuel infrastructure of Crimea.
According to him, the situation with fuel supply in Crimea is not only not stabilizing, but has deteriorated significantly in recent days.
“There is no gasoline, and now diesel fuel has disappeared. This happened after the successful attack on the oil depot in Hvardiyske and the warehouses with fuel, apparently, these were diesel fuel stocks. From Friday morning until October 19 , there was a huge column of smoke from Hvardiyske that was visible even from Zuya(two dozen kilometers from Hvardiyske – KR). Given this state of affairs, the promises of the Russian “head” of Crimea Sergey Aksyonov to stabilize the situation with fuel supply are simply unrealizable,” the activist said.
According to the Russian blogger Alexander Sergeev (Gorny), who moved to Koktebel after the Russian annexation of Crimea, in addition to the acute shortage of fuel, its quality is getting worse in Crimea.
“The situation with fuel in Crimea, in my opinion, has deteriorated significantly. Tonight I could not refuel in Feodosia and the surrounding area. Diesel fuel has started to disappear in some places. Another promise of Sergei Valerievich Aksyonov remained just that, a promise. I had hope, but my brain told me that this was just another promise they didn’t feel sorry for. What is the solution? There is no solution and there will be none. Moreover, the fuel is of very poor quality, the car drives worse and “eats” more. Usually I get about 10 liters with air conditioning, now I get 11 liters without air conditioning and the check engine is often on,” the blogger shared his observations with his followers.
Russian Head of Crimea Sergey Aksyonov reported that a decision had been made to resolve the situation with the availability of automotive fuel at Crimean gas stations, where he promised that the number of gas stations with fuel would increase from October 20. According to Aksyonov, this plan has been verified and agreed with the federal authorities.
On the morning of October 20, the head of the Russian government of Crimea, Yuriy Gotzanyuk, said that fuel was being sold at 130 gas stations in annexed Crimea, and the limit for its sale had been increased from 20 to 30 liters per person. The statements of the Russian authorities require additional verification.
