A monument to Reagan and a mural of Trump may appear in Kyiv

The idea of erecting a monument to Reagan is being actively promoted by MP Marian Zablotskyi. The MP expressed his hope that he would finally be granted permission to erect a monument to Ronald Reagan in Kyiv on his Facebook page, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

A few months ago, Marian Zablotskyi initiated a petition to erect a monument to Ronald Reagan in Kyiv. The idea was argued, in particular, by the fact that “since 1963, the great Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko has been immortalized in stone in Washington, but Ukraine still has no sculptures of prominent Americans, which is a gap in the cultural ties between the two countries.” The petition was supported by the required number of votes. Mayor Vitali Klitschko responded, emphasizing that decisions on the construction (creation) of monuments and monuments of national importance are made by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, but if the Cabinet of Ministers makes a decision, the Kyiv City Council will support and facilitate its implementation.

As for the initiative to create a mural of Trump, Marian Zablotskyi noted that this project has also been in the works for a long time.

In the comments, contributors had different opinions on the idea of a Trump mural. Some people thought it would be better to spend the money on drones, while others ironically noted that a mural is a bit small. They said that a statue was needed.
