Kyiv will restrict traffic on the overpass on Dniprovska embankment: detour plan

From July 3 to August 2026, traffic will be partially restricted on the overpass at the intersection of Mykola Bazhana Avenue and Dniprovska Embankment in Kyiv. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to Kyivavtodor.
“The traffic restriction is due to the start of the overhaul of the overpass near the Osokorky metro station. We remind you that this overpass was put into operation in 1990. And since then, it has never been overhauled,” said the utility company.
At the first stage, traffic will be restricted to half of the overpass on Dniprovska embankment in the direction of Osokorky. Traffic in both directions will be allowed on the opposite side of the overpass.
For the duration of the overhaul, traffic on the overpass will be operated according to a temporary scheme.

The 2023 inspection revealed significant defects on the overpass near the Osokorky metro station: deterioration of waterproofing, destruction of reinforced concrete structures, exposure and corrosion of reinforcement, cracking and delamination of concrete. The overhaul involves the complete replacement of the overpass with new supports, girders, bridge deck, etc.
