Police officer killed in Kyiv under fire

The shelling of Kyiv last night, July 10, killed a 68-year-old resident of the capital and a 22-year-old police corporal. This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the Telegram of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko.
He noted that residential, medical, educational, commercial, and transport infrastructure in 8 districts of the capital was damaged.
“Two women were killed in Podil district: a 68-year-old resident of the capital and a 22-year-old police corporal, a subway police officer,” Klymenko said.
According to him, more than a dozen people were wounded, and, unfortunately, the number of victims will grow. People continue to seek medical assistance. The police are conducting door-to-door visits to the affected houses to check if anyone is left without help.
“Operational headquarters were immediately deployed at the sites of the strikes. About 400 rescuers and 90 units of fire and rescue, engineering and robotic equipment of the State Emergency Service are involved in the debris removal and shelling aftermath. Groups of mountaineers and pyrotechnics are working,” the Interior Minister added.
He also emphasized that police officers are guarding the perimeters, documenting the consequences of the Russian war crime, and helping to evacuate people.
Night shelling of Kyiv on July 10
Russian occupation forces launched a missile attack on the Kyiv region. After the ballistic missile strike, the occupiers launched about five cruise missiles approaching the capital in two separate groups. Before that, the Russians attacked Kyiv with drones.
As a result of the hostile attack, the consequences were recorded in six districts of the city. In particular, houses were damaged, fires were reported, and more. The biggest damage was in Shevchenkivskyi district. Also, according to the latest data, 16 people were injured in the city, two of them died.
Traffic was also restricted on the following streets:
- Volnovakha (from Vaclav Havel Blvd.)
- Kozeletska (from Mykola Vasylenko Street)
- Sichovykh Striltsiv (from Studentska Street to Mykola Pymonenko Street)
- Yuriy Illyenko (from Degtyarivska street to Dovnar-Zapolsky street)
- Oleksa Tykhoho (from Chuhuivskyi lane to Hrushetska street)
