Free parking for military in Kyiv: how to use the service

At the initiative of the Kyiv Territorial Control Department, a free parking service for defenders has been introduced in the Kyiv Digital app. This was announced by Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration for Digitalization Petro Olenych, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
To enable veterans to use the right to free parking, the application has added the ability to enter the status of a combatant.
A new section, Social Status, has been added to the app’s user profile, allowing veterans to confirm their data and access benefits. The status can only be confirmed through a verified account using Diia or BankID.
Currently, the Resident Status, which allows participation in local polls exclusively for Kyiv residents, and the Defender Status, which is intended for military personnel with the appropriate ID, are available.
After confirming their status in Kyiv, digital defenders will be able to use the hourly parking service for free.
To avoid abuse, free parking will be available for no more than five cars per month for one person.
Status confirmation algorithm
The status can be confirmed by sending a copy of the veteran’s digital ID through Diia.Sharing, or automatically if the data has already been verified on the Portal of Defenders.
If the certificate is only available in paper format, it must first be verified through a form from the Ministry of Veterans Affairs or uploaded to Diia.
If it was not possible to add the document to Diia, you need to:
Submit a request on the website appeal.mva.gov.ua, attaching a photo of the ID and ID card.
After successfully adding the document to Diia, upload a copy of it to the Kyiv Digital application to receive the benefit.
