An offer to sell the autograph of Iryna Farion, a linguist, professor and blogger who was murdered on 19 July this year, has appeared on the Internet. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian"
The offer was posted on the website krilov-art.com and the Facebook page “A Gift to the Man Who Has Everything”.
The subject of the sale, according to the website, is the linguist’s book “Language Norm: Destruction, Search, Recovery”, which is framed and signed by the author. However, judging by the photo, it looks more like the frame contains only a fragment of the book, some newspaper clippings and a piece of paper with Farion’s signature on it.

As you can see, the object is marked with the certificate of authenticity S-07202, but the certificate itself is not depicted.
A certificate of authenticity is a document that confirms the authenticity of an art object, its origin and authorship. Usually, such certificates are issued by galleries, and it is their authority that buyers rely on when deciding whether to believe such a certificate. Sometimes the authenticity certificate is issued by the authors themselves.
“Strength! Faith! Progress! Competition! Flight!”
– is allegedly written by Iryna Farion on an autograph from 2013.
An autograph of Irina Farion is for sale for $1000.

The website krilov-art.com positions itself as a specialised platform for selling autographs of famous people, designed as works of art. It allegedly sells autographs from the private collection of collector Alexander Krylov.

Iryna Farion’s autograph was highly valued on the site. For example, the signature of American superstar Kim Kardashian is sold next to it, which costs half as much.

The most expensive item in the collection is the art object “Icon of the XXI century”, the centrepiece of which is a 2019/20 Barcelona FC shirt with his signature. The icon costs $60,000.

The murder of Iryna Farion and its investigation
on 19 July 2024, political activist and professor at Lviv Polytechnic Iryna Farion was killed by a direct shot to the head on Masaryk Street in Lviv.
Currently, the main suspect in the murder is Vyacheslav Zinchenko, an 18-year-old resident of Dnipro, who has been detained by police and will be held in a pre-trial detention centre until at least 17 November. The young man has not yet spoken out clearly about his involvement in the murder – he has neither confirmed nor denied it.
Instead, the suspect stated that his arrest was desirable for him, as he was being hunted by Russian special services and radicalised individuals on the loose.
The investigation into the murder of Iryna Farion is ongoing, but for almost three months, the investigation has not provided the public with any information about the alleged masterminds or other details of the investigation.
A petition was registered on the government’s website to posthumously award the linguist the title of Hero of Ukraine. The petition has received the required number of votes, and now it is to be considered by the Ministry of Education and Science, whose head Farion called an ignoramus.
