Two children and their father found shot dead in a village in Lviv region: what is known

In the village of Stanislavchik, Zolochiv district, two children aged 13 and 15 were found shot dead, along with their 42-year-old father. According to preliminary data, the man killed his children and committed suicide.
This was first reported by the head of the Lviv Regional State Administration, Maxim Kozytsky.
“A tragedy occurred today (February 15, ed.) in the village of Stanislavchik, Zolochiv district. According to information available as of 22:45 on February 15, two children, aged 13 and 15, and their father were found shot dead. The circumstances of the tragedy are being investigated. All relevant services are working at the scene,” said Maksym Kozytskyi, head of the Lviv Regional State Administration.
The local Child Welfare Service described the family as well-off. It was not registered with social services.
The Lviv Regional Police Communications Department reported that at around 9:25 p.m., the 102 emergency line received a report of gunshots in one of the houses in the village of Stanislavchik. The press service of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office noted that, according to preliminary data, the man killed his children and then committed suicide. He used a hunting rifle to do so.
A criminal case was opened under paragraph 1, paragraph 2, part 2 of Article 115 (Intentional Murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and part 1 of Article 115 (Intentional Murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine with the note “suicide.” The investigation is ongoing.
