Social media accuses OLX of calling for tenants to be reported to the TCK: what the company says

Information is spreading online that the OLX classifieds service is allegedly calling on landlords to report their tenants to the TCK. One such post was published by lawyer Maria Samarina, who added screenshots of emails allegedly sent by the platform.
The published images state that if there is suspicion that persons not specified in the contract are living in rented accommodation, OLX advises landlords to ask their neighbors to report such cases. And if individuals who may be evading mobilization are identified, it is “strongly recommended” to notify the local TCC and law enforcement agencies.
However, the company has categorically denied this information.
In a comment, the OLX press service noted that the message is fake and has no relation to OLX Real Estate.
“The screenshot does not indicate the sender’s address and uses outdated branding that OLX does not use in its official marketing communications,” the company emphasized.
They also emphasized that the platform does not send such letters and does not provide any recommendations on contacting the TCK or other authorities regarding tenants.
The company urged users to verify their sources of information and to trust only the service’s official communication channels.
