US doctor pleads guilty in Matthew Perry’s death case

In the United States, doctor Salvador Plascencia pleaded guilty to distributing ketamine, which could have led to the death of Friends star Matthew Perry. This was reported byEuronews with reference to documents filed with a federal court in Los Angeles, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

Plascencia confessed to four episodes of ketamine trafficking. In exchange for the guilty plea, prosecutors dropped five more charges. The doctor faces up to 40 years in prison. An official plea is expected in the coming weeks.

The case also involves another suspect, Jaswin Sangha, who is accused of trafficking in ketamine. Both are due to appear in court in August.

As a reminder, Matthew Perry was found dead on October 28, 2023.

According to forensic experts, the actor died of an overdose of ketamine, which was used to treat depression.

Perry, who had been struggling with drug addiction for many years, later began to seek larger doses of the drug outside of the official prescription.
