The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) said it had detected and tracked four Russian military aircraft in international airspace near Alaska. This is stated in a statement on the NORAD website, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
“On September 24, 2025, NORAD detected and tracked two Tu-95s and two Su-35s operating in the Alaskan air defense identification zone,” the statement said.
NORAD also states that the Russian military aircraft allegedly remained in international airspace and did not enter the sovereign airspace of Canada or the United States.
At the same time, the United States does not consider Russia’s activity in international airspace near Alaska as a threat, the statement said.
on September 23, US President Donald Trump said that he believes it is right to shoot down Russian fighter jets that fly into NATO airspace.
