On the temporarily occupied peninsula, the Russian administration is forcing children in the international camp Artek to write greeting cards to Daniel Ortega, the dictator of Nicaragua who supports Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.
This was reported by the Center of National Resistance (CNR), "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
“In the seized Artek camp, children are forced to write greeting cards to Nicaraguan dictator Daniel Ortega, Putin’s henchman who supported the “entry” of the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine into Russia. This is another manifestation of Russia’s childish diplomacy, which reproduces the worst practices of the Soviet Union,” the statement said.
The CNS emphasizes that Ortega, whom Nicaraguans themselves call a usurper, systematically violates human rights, including the rights of the child. Despite this, the Kremlin considers him a strategic ally.
“And it is in such ‘alliances’ that the occupiers force Ukrainian children to see the future,” the Center adds.
Earlier, in 2021, Ukraine imposed sanctions against Nicaragua for opening an honorary consulate of this country in the occupied Crimea.
