In the temporarily occupied Crimea, Russians destroyed a unique ancient fresco of the Khan’s Palace in Bakhchisarai.

This was reported by the Association for the Reintegration of Crimea, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

“As stated on March 4 in the occupier-controlled “Crimean media”, during the endless “restoration” of the Khan’s Palace in Bakhchisarai, builders destroyed a historically valuable painting, because “they allegedly thought it was just old plaster,” the report says.

It is noted that the “repair” of the upper part of the palace was carried out by ordinary painters. They were ordered to remove all the old coating. Therefore, when an ancient fresco came across… it was simply dismantled. According to the aforementioned “media,” the fresco is supposedly beyond repair, cynically suggesting that it should be “painted over again.”

The barbaric “restoration” of the Khan’s Palace has been repeatedly criticized by international organizations as a form of actual destruction of the authenticity of this unique monument of Crimean Tatar history and culture.

Earlier it became known that the invaders are destroying the authenticity of the Khan’s Palace in Bakhchisarai.

According to the former director of the Bakhchisaray Historical and Cultural Reserve Elmira Ablyalimova, since 2017, so-called “repair and restoration work” has been carried out at the complex’s facilities, which number about 20.

The occupiers carry them out even where there is no need for them.
