On the eve of the third anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, three models depicting Russian dictator Vladimir Putin in the form of a prisoner were put up near the former KGB prison in Vilnius. This was reported by LRT, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

The demonstration of an artificially created figure of Putin, dressed in a criminal’s uniform and handcuffs, is intended to give decision-makers and the public a sense of what decisions and actions historical justice requires of them, the Lithuanian Genocide and Resistance Research Center (LGGRTC) said in a statement.

Arunas Bubnis, the director general of the LGGRTC, believes that this is what the future of the Kremlin leader should look like.

“I think Putin’s place is not at the negotiating table, as they want to do now, but in these prison clothes to be in the dock of the Hague Tribunal,” he told reporters.

Bubnis noted that Lithuania knows from its own history what genocide and mass terror are, and Russia must compensate for the damage and atrocities it has caused.

“Since Russia has officially taken over the rights and responsibilities of the Soviet Union, I believe that we have the right to demand compensation and reimbursement for all the damage caused to Lithuania and other occupied countries. For demographic losses, cultural, material, environmental and other damages,” he said.

It is noted that the global campaign “PUTinJail” has been running since 2023 and has already taken place in Sweden, Japan, Belgium, Spain, the United States, Australia, Italy, Germany and other Western countries.
