Supply schedules

From October 20 to 23, gas imports from Poland will be completely suspended. From October 23 to October 25, supplies will be partially resumed – up to 6.54 million cubic meters per day instead of the usual 10-10.4 million cubic meters.

The work is being done to modernize the gas transportation infrastructure between the two countries. The schedule was agreed between the Ukrainian GTS Operator of Ukraine and the Polish Gaz-System.

Impact on Ukraine

The suspension of Polish supplies will have a serious impact on Ukraine’s gas supply, as Poland accounts for more than 42% of total gas imports. Since September, Ukraine has been receiving 10-10.4 million cubic meters of gas from Poland daily, the largest volume among all European suppliers.

Overall, Ukraine imports about 23.5 million cubic meters of gas per day from European countries. The main buyer is the state-owned Naftogaz of Ukraine, which is preparing for the heating season and is trying to accumulate 13.2 billion cubic meters of gas in underground storage facilities by November 1.

However, this gas supply interruption should not hit Ukraine hard, as the rate of gas injection into underground storage facilities is currently good.
