Russian strike on Ternopil: 34 people confirmed dead

The death toll from the Russian missile strike on Ternopil on November 19 has risen to 34 people. This was announced by the deputy head of the regional military administration Taras Pastukh on Sunday, November 23.

“We can state that 34 people were killed, 33 have already been identified,” he said in a video message on Telegram, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

According to Pastukh, another body fragment belongs to a man, who is being identified by experts. Six people are still missing – two men, three women and a child.

Search operations in Ternopil have been completed

The night before, on the fourth day after the attack, search and rescue operations in Ternopil were completed. According to Pastukh, police officers are now looking for evidence of the weapon that destroyed the house.

“There is an assumption that it was a Russian X-101 missile, but evidence must still be taken for the investigation,” he emphasized.

Pastukh added that during the inspection of this house, the remains of other people who are currently missing may be found.

Massive Russian attack on Ternopil

On the night of Wednesday, November 19, Russian troops launched a massive combined attack on Ternopil, using missiles and drones. As a result, a nine-story residential building partially collapsed, and another nine-story building was damaged.

The Russian military did not comment on the deaths of civilians in Ternopil. The Russian Ministry of Defense claims that the strike was aimed at military-industrial complex and energy facilities.
