29 November 2024 11:44

Today, on November 29, the Ukrainian women’s national football team will play an important match against Belgium in Antalya, Turkey. This is the first game of the second round of the playoffs for the right to participate in Euro 2025. The match starts at 19:00 Kyiv time, reports "Komersant Ukrainian".

The second game will take place on December 3 in Leuven, Belgium, at 21:15 Kyiv time.

Our team has already successfully passed the first round of the playoffs, defeating Turkey by the sum of two matches (1:1 and 2:0). The Belgians, in turn, confidently defeated Greece (0:0, 5:0).

The head coach of the Ukrainian national team, Volodymyr Pyatenko, noted the strengths of the opponents, but was confident of victory.

“Almost all of the Belgian national team play abroad. Near their own possessions, the team operates with a supporting midfielder, in the other half of the field uses a 4-3-3 attacking scheme. The Belgians play quite tightly in the transition phase, and they also have vertical passes. But although they are higher in the table of ranks, my wards have their own trump cards, and we are going to play only to win,”

– the coach told reporters.

The winner of the two-match match will receive a ticket to Euro 2025, which will be held in Switzerland from July 2 to 27, 2025. Eight teams have already qualified for the tournament, and seven more will be competing in the current playoff round.
