Ukraine has the potential to export gas to Europe – expert

Ukraine has significant gas reserves and could potentially become a net exporter of the resource. However, since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, exports have been banned. This was stated by Artem Petrenko, Executive Director of the Association of Gas Producers of Ukraine, in an interview with the YouTube channel "Komersant Ukrainian".
“Ukraine has large reserves and is a unique country on the European continent, as we cover the lion’s share of consumption with our own production. Therefore, we can potentially become a net exporter of gas. But as of now, exports are prohibited by the Government’s decision,” said Petrenko.

He added that the development of export potential may become possible after the security situation stabilizes and the infrastructure is restored.
