The next Group of Seven summit will be held in Kananaskis, Alberta, Canada. Prior to that, Canada has hosted six G7 summits over the past 40 years.

As a reminder, on the eve of Canada’s G7 presidency, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a conversation with Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau. According to the Head of State, they discussed key priorities, including strengthening sanctions against Russia, especially its propaganda networks and shadow fleet. Volodymyr Zelenskyy then thanked Justin Trudeau and the Canadian people for their unwavering support and defense assistance to Ukraine and proposed to increase funding for the production of Ukrainian weapons and consider opportunities for localizing the production of certain types of weapons.

After the conversation, the Prime Minister of Canada wrote on his Facebook page: “As president of the G7 next year, I reaffirmed the importance we place on peace and freedom for Ukraine.”
