Ukraine plans to resume exports of milk powder to Japan

Ukrainian dairy producers are interested in resuming full exports of milk powder to Japan.
Arsen Didur, executive director of the Union of Dairy Enterprises of Ukraine, told BusinessCensor, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
According to him, Ukrainian companies used to supply large volumes of milk powder to Japan. However, later these partnerships came to naught.
Ukraine received a second permit to export dairy products to Japan in March 2021, Didur said. However, the volume of Ukrainian products supplied to this eastern country is still low.
“Given the high turbulence and collapse of world prices, Ukraine needs to rely on other markets for milk powder besides Europe,” Didur said. “Japan could be one of these sales channels that need to be restored. This move would be interesting for Ukrainian milk powder producers. We have shown interest in meeting with Japanese business.”
He noted that Japan has its own milk production, but climatic conditions and limited pastures
