Ukraine is strengthening its armored arsenal: The Armed Forces received new tactical armored vehicles

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has officially authorized two new Ukrainian-made tactical armored vehicles – Varta-2 and UAT.GYURZA-02 – for use in the Defense Forces. These vehicles meet strict criteria for efficiency, reliability and safety, making them an important addition to the military arsenal, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
“VARTA-2 is a universal armored vehicle of the MRAP class
“VARTA-2 was created based on combat experience and modern requirements of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It is available in three versions:
- Base model
- Modification with an armored turret for a 12.7 mm machine gun
- A version with a remote-controlled combat module that can be equipped with 12.7 mm, 14.5 mm or 30 mm caliber weapons
The vehicle has a strong level of protection:
The ballistic resistance complies with the PZSA-6 standard, which guarantees protection against 7.62×54 mm bullets and B32 armor-piercing incendiary rounds.
Mine protection can withstand an explosion of up to 8 kg of TNT.
The interior is equipped with mine-resistant seats, a suspended floor and other safety features.
The armored vehicle is equipped with a 6.7-liter turbo diesel engine, automatic transmission, modern braking system and means of protection against chemical and biological threats.
UAT.GYURZA-02 – improved combat mobility
The modernized version of the GYURZA-01, which is already in use by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, has received improved armor protection and improved cross-country performance.
The vehicle is equipped with:
- 6.7-liter turbo diesel engine
- Automatic transmission
- Dual-circuit braking system
- The airborne compartment has an increased level of protection:
- It can withstand 7.62×39 mm and 7.62×54 mm armor-piercing and incendiary bullets.
- The V-shaped bottom provides protection against mines with a capacity of up to 8 kg of TNT.
- The vehicle can be equipped with a machine gun of up to 14.5 mm caliber.
The introduction of these armored vehicles will strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities by providing the military with a high level of protection and maneuverability on the battlefield.
