Ukraine returns assets: another plant in state ownership

Rivne Automobile Repair Plant was returned to state ownership. The company is currently registered with the State Property Fund. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
According to the report, the Regional Office of the State Property Fund of Ukraine in Rivne and Zhytomyr regions appealed to the Rivne District Prosecutor’s Office in connection with the failure to fulfill the terms of the contract of sale of the single property complex of the state enterprise Rivne Automobile Repair Plant.
The prosecutor’s office appealed to the court to terminate the agreement and return the property to state ownership.
The prosecutor’s office found that at the time of privatization, the state-owned enterprise owed more than UAH 17 million to the budget and more than UAH 8 million to its employees.
According to the report, the winner of the auction did not fulfill its obligations – it did not repay the debt to the budget and employees of the enterprise, but, on the contrary, allowed it to grow.
“The debt increased to UAH 18.8 million and UAH 11.4 million, respectively. Moreover, the employees were fired under various pretexts,” the statement said. “The case was considered by courts of all instances. The arguments of the prosecutor’s office were confirmed and the claims were satisfied.”
Rivne Automobile Repair Plant was established in 1947.
In 2011, the plant was incorporated into the state concern Ukroboronprom.
The company repaired and re-equipped automotive and special vehicles for the needs of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
At the end of 2020, the Cabinet of Ministers excluded the plant from Ukroboronprom and transferred it to the State Property Fund.
In 2023, the SPFU sold the single property complex of the Rivne Automobile Repair Plant to the Construction Materials Plant LLC at an auction for UAH 2.5 million.
