Ukraine cuts off classified phone line with Moscow

At a meeting on 30 August, the Cabinet of Ministers terminated the 1998 agreement between Ukraine and Russia on the organisation of a direct classified telephone line between Kyiv and Moscow. This was announced by the Cabinet’s permanent representative in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk, Kommersant Ukrainian reported https://www.komersant.info/.

“The Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Russian Federation on the organisation of a direct classified telephone line between Kyiv and Moscow, signed in Moscow on 27 February 1998, has been terminated,” he wrote.

At a meeting on 11 August 2023, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine terminated the agreement between Ukraine and the Russian Federation on the coordination of railway transport activities.
