The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has denied reports that Russian troops have entered Kupyansk, Kharkiv region.
“The situation in the city of Kupyansk and its surroundings is under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the Ukrainian army command said on Facebook on Saturday, September 13, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
The statement notes that Russians continue to try to gather to the northern outskirts of Kupyansk. “The exit from the pipeline, which the enemy used to move personnel to Kupyansk, is under the control of Ukrainian defenders. The pipeline does not lead directly to the city,” the Ukrainian Armed Forces said. The statement also emphasizes that there are several pipelines in the area of Kupyansk, with three of the four lines already damaged and flooded, and the outlet of the fourth line, according to the military, is under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported a counter-sabotage operation in Kupyansk over the past two weeks, and “search and strike operations” around the city. At the same time, since the beginning of the operation in the area, the Russians have lost almost 400 servicemen, 288 of whom were killed, it is noted further.
