Ukraine increased exports by 13%: which products became leaders

In January-September 2024, Ukraine’s exports of goods amounted to $30.8 billion, up 12.9% year-on-year. Imports of goods also increased by 11%, reaching $51.2 billion. This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the press service of the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.
“In 9 months of 2024, exports of goods amounted to $30,838.5 million, or 112.9% compared to 9 months of 2023, and imports amounted to $51,220.5 million, or 110.0%,” the report says.

The negative balance of foreign trade is $20.38 billion, slightly higher than last year ($19.25 billion).
The largest growth was demonstrated in particular by the following groups of goods: electrical machinery (21.3%), ferrous metals (15.2%) and grain crops (10.2%).
Imports grew in the categories of electrical machinery (30%), reactors, boilers, and machinery (28.3%), and means of land transport (11.9%).



According to the State Statistics Service, trade was carried out with partners from 226 countries.
In September 2024, compared to August 2024, seasonally adjusted exports increased by 0.5%, while imports decreased by 1.0%. The seasonally adjusted foreign trade balance in September 2024 was negative and amounted to USD 2512.9 million. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THAT THE BALANCE HAS BEEN NEGATIVE. In August 2024, it was also negative – USD 2586.2 million. THE BALANCE OF FOREIGN TRADE WAS ALSO NEGATIVE – USD 2586.2 MILLION.
