Ukraine swept the podium in the sprint event at the 2026 Paralympics among athletes with visual impairments

The last para-biathlon races of the first day of competition at the 2026 Paralympic Games have come to an end — the men’s and women’s sprints in the visually impaired class.

The men’s sprint was extremely successful for the Ukrainian team, with a full podium and three medals of all kinds! – reports "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to Suspilne.

Oleksandr Kazik finished with an adapted time of 17:37.7 minutes, winning his second Paralympic gold medal in his career after his victory in Beijing 2022 in the 12.5 km race.

Yaroslav Reshetynsky and Anatoliy Kovalevsky completed the podium, finishing 3.7 seconds behind. The Ukrainian team did not miss a single shot at the shooting range.
