Ukrainian Gymnastics Federation changes its head for the first time since 2015

Rhythmic gymnast, four-time world champion and coach Iryna Deryugina has become the head of the Ukrainian Gymnastics Federation. The head of the organisation has changed for the first time since 2015. This was reported by the press service of the federation, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

“The head of the Ukrainian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation and head coach of the Ukrainian rhythmic gymnastics team, Iryna Deryugina, has been elected president of the Ukrainian Gymnastics Federation. During the Extraordinary Conference of the Ukrainian Gymnastics Federation held on 8 October, the delegates voted unanimously in favour of Iryna’s candidacy,” the federation said.

The 66-year-old Deryugina will combine this position with the chairmanship of the Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation and the duties of the head coach of the Ukrainian rhythmic gymnastics team.

Deryugina replaced Oleksandr Sukhomlyn, who had been head of the Federation since 2015 and resigned at his own request.
