Fire Point, the developer of the Ukrainian Flamingo cruise missile, has demonstrated its combat use for the first time. According to ZN.UA military observer Vitaliy Kononuchenko, the missile has already hit targets in Russia, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
Technical specifications:
- Warhead: 1150 kg
- Range: over 3000 km
- Protection: resistant to Russian electronic warfare systems
- Target: objects in the depths of the Russian Federation, previously inaccessible to Ukrainian weapons
Combat use:
- Tests were conducted several months ago, including real strikes on Russian targets
- Successful results: the missile accurately hit the target
Production:
- Fire Point’s workshops are located in a protected area of the Carpathian forests
- Ukrainian photojournalist Efrem Lukatsky (Associated Press) visited the production and published a photo of the missile
- According to journalists, Flamingo has already been put into mass production
A strategic goal:
- Back in the fall of 2024, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, presenting the Resilience Plan, set a goal of producing 3,000 cruise missiles by the end of 2025
- A senior official told Forbes Ukraine that Ukraine has the technical capability to do so – it just needs procurement contracts
The Flamingo missile is not just a technological breakthrough, but a symbol of a new phase of Ukrainian defense autonomy.
