The head of Ukraine’s Foreign Intelligence Service, Oleh Ivashenko, has confirmed information about China’s supply of products to Russian military enterprises. He said this in an interview with Ukrinform, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

According to Ivashenko, Ukrainian intelligence has specific data on Chinese supplies to Russian military enterprises.

“Yes, there is information that China supplies machine tools, special chemicals, gunpowder and components to military enterprises. We have confirmed data on 20 Russian plants. In 2024-2025, at least five cases of aviation cooperation with China were recorded: equipment, spare parts, and documentation. Six cases involved large supplies of special chemicals,”

– said the head of the SZR.

The situation with the supply of Chinese electronics for Russian drones is particularly critical, thanks to which the Russian drone industry actually exists.

“As of the beginning of 2025, 80% of critical electronics for Russian drones are of Chinese origin. At the same time, there are substitutions, deception in the names, there are companies through which everything necessary for the production of microelectronics goes,”

The Chinese are at war against Ukraine

Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy claimed that 155 or even more Chinese citizens were involved in the war on the Russian side. Ivashenko did not rule out the possibility of their coordination by China’s special services. After all, the experience they gain at the front is invaluable to the Chinese army.

“In each country, special services solve certain problems, and we cannot rule out that these were also representatives who adopt the experience of modern warfare,”

– he noted.

The head of the Foreign Intelligence Service also confirmed the fact of military experience exchange between Russia and China.

“We know that Russians share their experience with the Chinese. At the level of military cooperation, at the level of headquarters, at the level of planning, joint military exercises are held. Now the Chinese are also invited to joint Russian-Belarusian exercises that will be held at training grounds in Belarus and Russia. During these military events of international cooperation, experience is exchanged,”

– Ivashenko explained.

At the same time, the intelligence chief did not rule out that some Chinese could have joined the Russian army through administrative violations or for a reward.

“In general, there are many Chinese in Russia, as well as representatives of other nationalities, in particular from Central Asia. There are about 6 million foreigners temporarily staying in Russia. These are people who came in search of work, as well as students from Asia and Africa. And they, like every other foreigner in Russia, could end up in the ranks of the Russian Armed Forces due to minor administrative violations or for a monetary reward, we do not rule this out,”

– Ivashenko added.
